Marinaldo Martins Pereira started practicing Capoeira in 1978 under Mestre Walter in Eunapolis, Bahia. He became Mestre in 1986 under the supervision of Mestre Durval (Ferro Velho).

Mestre Durval lived in Salvador Bahia, he was affiliated with Associacao Capoeira Mestre Bimba. In 1994 he was formally given his white Mestre's belt by Mestre Ezequiel Martins e Mestre Joao Pequeno. (Reconhecimento de Mestre)

Mestre continues his work in Eunapolis, Bahia where he spent 40 years of his life, where he left a seed of Capoeira. Grupo Capoeira Esoprao maintains teaching the fundamentals of Capoeira Regional as well as Capoeira Angola. Mestre is constantly on the move traveling for workshops and perfomances.
