Vicente Ferreira Pastinha, known as Mestre Pastinha, is given credit for nurturing and developing Capoeira Angola, a style more ritualized and rooted in the cultural and musical traditions.
Both led hard working lives, dedicated to an art that has lasted roughly five hundred years, even through a time where it was outlawed by government that has now gained respect as a national sport and is practiced by capoeiristas in Brazil as well as all over the world. |
